01 — Getting started
How it works
- Add the add-in. Add eFiler365 from the Microsoft store inside Outlook, with no manifest files to find or upload, or deploy it to everyone from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Connect your storage. Sign in to the Hub with Microsoft and connect SharePoint, OneDrive, Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Docs), Egnyte, Google Drive or file shares.
- Install eFiler Sync. An admin installs it on an always-on Windows or Linux server for central processing, which is best in almost all cases. It can also run on each user’s PC. It connects out to the Hub, so no firewall ports need opening.
- Start filing. File from the pane, or let rules do it. Search from Outlook or any browser.

Filing
File one or many emails, with Autopilot folder suggestions, Favourites, Recent, folder tags and saved attachments. A filed marker shows colleagues an email is already filed.
Automation eFiler365+
File automatically by project or client number, by [bracket] codes in the subject, or by dropping mail into an Outlook folder. Replies follow their conversation, and attachments save on their own.
After filing
Move filed email to a “Filed by eFiler” folder or a folder you choose, delete it, or leave it where it is.
Search
Search by keyword, sender, recipient, date, subject, content or attachment name, from any browser. eFiler Sync indexes every location in the background, and in server mode the whole team shares one central index, so results are instant. Results only show what each person is allowed to open.
Admin
Company settings and enforced policies, shared locations, roles, multi-factor authentication and file-name templates, plus an activity log with eFiler365+.
03 — Plans
Two plans. Everything included.
Prices are per user, excluding VAT, for teams of 5 or more. Pay yearly, or monthly if you prefer. Every price is all-inclusive, with no set-up fees, storage charges, migration bills or usage charges.

04 — Your data
Your email never leaves your storage.
eFiler Sync downloads each message from the mailbox and saves it to your own storage as a standard .eml file. The search index stays with eFiler Sync, inside your environment. The Hub holds settings and instructions, never your email.
- No migration. Works with the folders you already have.
- No lock-in. Filed email is a standard file. Stop using eFiler365 and every email is still there.
- Your governance. Residency, retention, auditing and data-loss protection come from the storage you already manage.
- Your permissions. Search results follow your storage permissions, including SharePoint folders.
Direct connections
No desktop sync apps. Your permissions apply.
eFiler Sync, eFiler’s own service, connects straight to SharePoint, OneDrive, Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Docs), Egnyte and Google Drive through each provider’s API. Nobody needs OneDrive or other sync apps on their PC for filing to work.
- Permissions respected. Email is saved through the provider’s API, so the folder permissions you set there still apply.
- No sync apps required. Nothing extra on each PC, and no waiting for a local folder to upload.
- Plus anything Windows can see. Other cloud services that sync to a folder on the computer running eFiler Sync work too, alongside your file servers.
